HiCycle AR Series – Accelerated Wear Tester

The HiCycle is an accelerated wear tester (AWT) used to determine the durability or fatigue of replacement heart valves and other cardiac devices under physiological loading for R&D and regulatory submissions. The HiCycle System provides accelerated life cycle testing of up to 6 samples at a time. The HiCycle System uses an electro-dynamic shaker to drive 6 pistons within fluid-filled, temperature-controlled chambers at an accelerated rate of up to 1,650 cycles/minute. Clear viewports on each chamber allow valve samples visualization during testing. Pressure transducers allow monitoring of the dynamic pressures up and down stream of the valves with the use of HiTest Software.

HiCycle AR Series - Accelerated Wear Tester features:

  • Adjustable cycle rate from 500 to 1,650 cycles/minute
  • Independent, but not simultaneous, monitoring of each sample chamber for upstream and downstream, and trans-valve pressures

  • Sample illumination through viewports from top/side views using a stroboscope

  • Flexible sized sample mounting using adapter rings up to 50 mm in height and 35 mm in diameter
  • Controlled temperature from ambient to 40ºC ±0.5°C
  • Grand Total, Total, and Batch Count functions
  • Custom designed cart to allow the equipment to be free standing and mobile
  • Fluid contact areas made of corrosion resistant materials
  • Variable preload or Pressure Head to the sample chambers ranging from 0 to 65 mmHg (8.7kPa)
  • Drive Unit for 6 test samples
  • Electronic Controller w/ link to the HiTest monitoring software
